Meghan Markle's half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. has revealed that he hopes that his wedding later this year will mend the rift that has torn his family apart.

The Duchess' half-brother got engaged on New Year's Eve and is planning to get married in March this year.

Though he wasn't included in the guest list for Meghan and Harry's wedding, he has vowed to invite the couple as well as the rest of his family.

He hopes that it will bring their father and Meghan close together again.

"Absolutely I think our wedding will bring the family closer together. It's hopeful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father... Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good," he told Daily Mail.

The 52-year-old began dating Darlene around the same time as Harry and Meghan starting dating, and she has admitted that she didn't believe him when he first mentioned his connection with the royal family.

Thomas added: "I remember that very well - Meghan and Harry had just started dating and I mentioned it to her and she looked at me like, 'Yeah, who is this guy? Whatever! He's crazy.' But it turned out really nice and we've had a really good time ever since.

Though Meghan hasn't spoken to her father since the paparazzi incident early last year, Thomas still has faith that his wedding is going to fix everything.
