Prince Louis isn't the only crowd pleaser in the royal family ...

Making a surprise appearance at the Commonwealth Games today, Princess Charlotte stole the show when she stepped out with her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham.

Charlotte emulated her little brother by making several funny faces among laughing spectators. At one point, she even gave a thumbs up to her father.

The outing marked the first time the seen-year-old - who wore a casual navy and white striped dress with her hair in two plaits - has made a public appearance without either of her brothers, Princes George, nine, and Prince Louis, four.

The royals cheered and applauded alongside the crowd for England's 1,500m freestyle hopeful Luke Turley.

Later in the day, the trio watched the hockey as England's women took on India at the University of Birmingham's Selly Oak city campus before heading to SportsAid house to meet with athletes.

The family were also seen at Arena Birmingham, which was hosting gymnastics, where Charlotte revealed it was her favourite sport.

Her mother - who has been the patron of SportsAid since 2013 - added: "Charlotte spends most of her time upside-down, doing handstands and cartwheels."

Maybe we will see the Princess competing at the Commonwealth Games one day!
